Pain to Profit$: Finding Your Plan de Vida

Pain to Profit$: Finding Your Plan de Vida

Recently, I stumbled upon the Netflix series called Blue Zones, and it left a profound impact on me. The series delves into the lives of people living in five regions around the world known for their extraordinary longevity, and it highlights some commonalities that these communities share.

One of the key takeaways from the Blue Zones is the concept of "Plan de Vida" - a sense of purpose that propels a positive outlook among elders and keeps them active. It's a reason to get out of bed in the morning and look forward to each day enthusiastically. These individuals live with intention, guided by their deeply ingrained sense of purpose.

In these Blue Zones, there is also a strong focus on family, community, and the simple joys of life. These people possess a unique ability to listen and laugh, creating bonds that enrich their lives and provide a support system that money alone can't buy.

But what does all of this have to do with entrepreneurship, you might ask?

Well, the lessons from the Blue Zones can be profoundly applied to our entrepreneurial endeavors. Just as these centenarians find joy in life's simple pleasures, we, too, should cherish the journey of building our businesses. It's not just about the destination – it's about the joy in the journey itself.

Ask yourself, why are you in business? Is it solely for financial gain or to stroke your ego? Or is it about something greater – making a lasting impact, creating a platform for change, and using the resources you accumulate to do meaningful things?

Our lives are both long and short. There is plenty of time to build your business, but some things can never be regained once lost – family, friends, marriage, and relationships. These are the natural treasures in life, and they deserve our attention and care.

So, I leave you with a bold question: How will your life be remembered? What will people say about you when you are gone? Is your "Plan de Vida" aligned with creating a legacy of impact, joy, and fulfillment?

Watch this podcast, From Broke at 35 To $1.5 BILLION, with Jp Newman, where he shares his Plan de Vida, which completely transformed his life and business.

Let's remember that there is immense joy in the journey, and our businesses should be a means to achieve a greater purpose, not the end goal in itself. Let's live our lives with intention, just like those in the Blue Zones, and in doing so, let's find more fun, more joy, more success, and less stress. Ultimately, let's aim to last longer, not just in years but in the positive impact we leave on this world.

Best,

Samson
