PAIN TO PROFIT$: šŸ˜ How to eat an Elephant

April Newsletter

Desmond Tutu once wisely said,

ā€œthere is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.ā€

What he meant by this is that everything in life or business that seems daunting, overwhelming, and even impossible can be accomplished gradually by taking on just a little at a time.

As we wrap up the first quarter of 2023, remember that you get 4 lives this year. Ā Make sure to reset, and recalibrate for Q2.

TAKE SMALL BITES

Leadership is like a big meal - if you try to eat it all at once, not only will you make yourself sick, but none of the flavors will truly be savored. The trick is breaking down your goals into small chunks that can easily be digested one bite at a time

In each of our companies, we leverage the EOSĀ® system, which emphasizes living your life in 90-day increments. Ā Because it's the easiest to manage, and the clearest most actionable objectives that will move us towards our 10 vision, 3 years picture, and 1-year plan.

WHAT IS DONE, IS DONE

The 90-day world is also an invaluable tool for leaving the past behind. Ā Inevitably we are going to have bad weeks, bad months, and even bad quarters. Ā But every 90 days we get to start new, and I like that!

After 90 days of setting and completing short-term goals, you'll get to reflect on where your journey has taken you. Glean from successes and failures alike to set out even bolder goals for another 3 months.

That's a wrap! Ā The Q1 of 2023 is done. Ā Get to work on Q2

Best,

Samson
