PAIN TO PROFIT$: 🌼 Water Your Own Grass

PAIN TO PROFIT$: 🌼 Water Your Own Grass

June 2023 Edition

Here is what everyone gets wrong about entrepreneurship.

Competition.

Trust me I know, because I have had 100s of ideas over my 38 years of life, and after doing more "research" I realized that there were tons of "competitors" in the market.

Water Your Own Grass

Business is not about beating your "competitor", it's about creating a better solution for your customer.

The only competition we truly face is the market itself.

But too often in business, we get focused on what everyone else is doing, rather than obsessing about creating a better solution for our customers.

There will always be someone who is ahead of you, better capitalized than you, more knowledgeable than you, and who is bigger than you.  But truth be told, none of that actually matters.

There is No such thing as "Being #1"

You can be #1 for a period of time...but for how long and compared to who, when, and where?

The Crux of Entrepreneurship is actually pretty dang simple:

"seeing an opportunity to do it better "

Entrepreneurship is NOT about pioneering or revolutionizing an industry, but rather providing a better product/service; and exploiting weaknesses in the customer experience by delivering it easier, faster, and more efficiently. Ultimately it's about giving the customer what they want, how they want it, and when they want it.  ❌ So STOP trying to make it more sophisticated than it needs to be.

I encourage you to take the next 3 minutes and listen to a segment from this one hour and 50-minute long interview CEO/Founder of Shopify. This short segment is incredibly relevant to today's newsletter.

Lastly, I'll leave you with this...

Each of you was put here for a reason.
Each of you reading this has an entrepreneurial itch that you need to scratch.

This is the podcast and newsletter that I wish existed when I was desperate to take the entrepreneurial leap.

This is my life's work
I pray that you will pursue your entrepreneurial dream.

Because beyond marriage and children, entrepreneurship is one of life's most fulfilling adventures.

Have a blessed week!

Best,

Samson
