At the 14th BRICS Summit, President Vladimir Putin revealed that these five countries are collaborating to introduce an innovative global reserve currency – a monumental development that could result in major economic changes. He expressed openness and readiness for "fair partners" as this historic new venture is introduced around the world.

Two questions come to mind:

• Is this really happening?
• How do we protect ourselves against de-dollarization?
